Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach Receives Update

February 14, 2017

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have announced that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s leaderboard style PVP mode Breach will receive a free update with a bunch of new content being brought to the game mode. This update is for both the in-game Breach mode in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as well as the stand-alone Deus Ex: Breach on Steam.

Included in the update are the Ghost Networks, which are randomly generated server networks that are made available each day. If you complete these you will receive a range of extra rewards. There’s a new corporate server, allowing you access 11 new Picus Corporation server maps to master.

There are also new Darknet Files, with a new conspiracy targeting Picus that is waiting to be solved by you. Finally, there is a range of new weapons and items for you to use during your hacking adventures.

As many will remember, during E3 2016, EA was not a part of the main show floor of the convention, instead setting up their own unique showcase titled EA Play at the nearby LA Live complex. That format was obviously successful enough for a repeat, as EA have announced EA Plays return during E3 2017, in Hollywood, as well as what titles we can expect to see at the event. From 11 June 13 June, EA will be showcasing the next Star Wars Battlefront and Need for Speed experiences which could mean sequels, DLC or something new. Of course, therell also be the latest refresh of their spor...

In a month where we’ve seen such massively hyped releases such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Mass Effect Andromeda, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Nintendo Switch console itself, it was a welcome change when Bye-Bye BoxBoy! appeared in the office. Developed by HAL Laboratory yes, that legendary game developer responsible for such games as Kirby, Kirby and Kirby (amongst many others), Bye-Bye BoxBoy! is the final game in a trilogy of BoxBoy titles, and a conclusion to the story. The games actually play out very similarly to the original Kirby games with the puzzle-solving ...

Do you like the idea of taking control of a snarky, fourth-wall breaking goblin who is hell-bent on sneaking around and robbing humans blind? Well then, have I got a game for you. Styx: Shards of Darkness is the follow-up to 2014’s stealth game Styx: Master of Shadows, which introduced the titular Styx, a wise cracking goblin full of surprises and special powers. Styx: Shards of Darkness promises to be bigger and better than its predecessor, with a larger budget and a change of engines according to developer Cyanide Studios. While it certainly is an improvement, it feels like Styx is still s...

Once upon a time, HyperX were known only for their SSDs and RAM, but over the last few years they have been gradually expending their repertoire to include more gear that gamers need. The first market they entered, and the one where they have the widest variety of products is their headsets. It’s no secret that I was a fan of the HyperX Cloud Stinger, their latest budget headset, but I had yet to look at the more premium headsets of their range. The HyperX Cloud Revolver S is HyperX’s latest top of the range headset and I went ears-on to put it through its paces and see just how it stacks ...

The Tales Series has recently been going through some tough times, with less than stellar entries over the past few years. Tales of Berseria is Bandai-Namco’s latest attempt at putting the series back on track and returning it to its former glory. If you haven’t played one of the modern Tales games before, they are Action-RPGs in a 3D overworld. You will find yourself traversing a variety of overworld areas as the main character, and then when you encounter enemies on the field, or story-triggered battles, you will be transported to an arena along with your party members. This arena is whe...

With the impending release of the Uncharted 4 Patch 1.21, Naughty Dogs Senior Communications Manager Scott Lowe discussed via the official PlayStation Blog what fans of Uncharted 4, particularly its multiplayer, can expect when it launches this weekend. Fans can expect a new King of the Hill mode which involves two teams battling for supremacy, attempting to take (and hold) control of capture points across the map. At the end of each game, Victory Hill activates, which gives the losing team a chance to stay in the game. If the losing team can capture Victory Hill, the match will extend and...

Ever since I got my hands on my Nintendo Switch I’ve been doing the exact same thing as most Australians – smashing through some Bokoblins and trying to save Hyrule. While I’ve seen a whole lot of the latest iteration of Hyrule, I don’t believe I’ve seen enough yet to form a full narrative and give you all the review I know you want. Instead, I’m here with my current review in progress, which includes my experiences up to and including the second dungeon I have found in the game. While my thoughts aren’t yet fully formed on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, my experiences ...

Guerrilla Games has been nurturing Horizon Zero Dawn for quite a while, half a decade in fact. As the Killzone series met its natural conclusion with Killzone 3 and failed to re-start itself with Killzone: Shadow Fall, the team focused on a new direction. And in many ways, Horizon Zero Dawn feels like a much more mature game out of the developers. While Killzone at times tried to portray a morally grey universe, it too often fell into the glorified kill-crazy shoot-ups that define most modern FPS games. Horizon Zero Dawn is refreshing, as it takes an entirely different approach that is ...

It’s no secret of mine that I enjoy a good video game every now and then, and I have fond memories dating back almost three decades playing my Nintendo Entertainment System, and games on the old Acorn BBC Microcomputer. Since those days, many machines have passed through my hands and with them a massive knowledge of different skills, including but not limited to gardening. Video games and gardens actually have quite a strong bond. Some of the best-looking games have some of the best-looking gardens. The Nintendo Switch is finally here and fans across the world are now literally jumping onto hype trains and continuing the games they started playing on their televisions earlier that day. The $469.95 cost is a sizeable investment to make, even for the most dedicated gamers, and its understandable that some might feel a bit of hesitation when looking at a Switch in store. Zach, Joseph and I have all had our Switch consoles since Friday and were here to tell you all about our early, and mostly positive, impressions of the Switch. Ubisoft has finally made the move to the open-world for the Ghost Recon franchise, and it couldnt have come soon enough. With most games enjoying a rich open-world environment these days, and having to compete with the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Mass Effect Andromeda all launching in the same month, Ghost Recon Wildlands couldnt have gone open-world at a better time. We witnessed the launch of Tom Clancys The Division, and although it had a few hiccups the game continues to evolve with an active community, so how does its super-stealthy brother comp...

For Honor has had a lot to live up to. Described as a “shooter with swords”, the promise of gorgeous visuals and online multiplayer has been wetting gamers’ appetites since it was announced back in 2015. Given the medieval setting, however, many assumed it would be a clone of 2013’s Ryse. Thankfully the sophisticated combat system, heavy multiplayer focus and variety of gameplay modes means For Honor shines with originality and stands out from the crowd. For Honor’s single-player campaign centres around a warlord named Apollyon who, for some ill-explained reason, wants to turn the la...

Even as the local release date approaches, the reality of Nier: Automata still feels almost like a text adventure dream. Nobody could have predicted that the a revered developer such as Platinum Games would be paired with the likes of Taro Yokos quirky, unorthodox storytelling and conceptualisation. Especially considering Taros cult-like status and influence on the now defunct Cavias divisive line-up. Yet here we are. Nier: Automata is as real as ever, promising to bring out the best of Platinums trademark characters action game design, Taros unusual perspective and approach to narrative ...

When I first played the original Gravity Rush it felt like an experiment in gameplay mechanics that was mostly successful. There were niggling issues with the camera, somewhat clumsy combat controls and meaningless side quests, but Kat’s character and story were engaging enough to look past those problems. The announcement of Gravity Rush 2 presented the potential to further expand on Kat’s character with another engaging story, while improving the issues with the original. Kat and her supporting cast are certainly as interesting as ever, but those same niggling issues have returned once a...

In this review I will continuously reference Dark Souls. Normally I try to avoid comparisons: every title should be discussed and rated on its own merits. But in the case of Nioh, Team Ninjas once-was-vaporware action RPG, the comparisons are necessary. Whatever twists and turns Niohs turbulent development cycle took, the end result is a vision deeply infused with influence from Hidetaka Miyazaki, yet impressively bold with its own conceptualisation to stand proud as an original work. Nioh is part Samurai Souls, but mostly a long overdue, confident body of work from a developer with scattere...

Anyone that grew up in the 90’s will remember the virtual pet craze. Made famous in particular by the Tamagotchi brand, the toys required players to take care of their own little pet including feeding it, playing with it, and cleaning up its poop. The craze saw the birth of Digimon, which later evolved into an anime and manga series. Digimon World: Next Order has more in common with the 90’s toy line than one might expect, offering a different experience than last year’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Digimon World: Next Order starts with the familiar story of high school student Takuto (o...

Its been over a decade since Psychonauts hit the PlayStation 2, and to be honest I thought Id completely forgotten the psychic world of Raz and friends. I should know better at this point than to doubt the talent of Double Fine and Tim Schafer, as within minutes of slipping on my PlayStation VR headset to play The Rhombus of Ruin, it all came flooding back to me. Halo Wars was an interesting, if not entirely successful experiment. Primarily, it was an experiment to bring a fully-fledged Real-Time Strategy game to consoles, a genre which has traditionally made its home with the hotkeys and precise mouse control of PC gaming. While I feel that experiment wasnt entirely successful, the game did have a legion of fans who enjoyed its simplified rock-paper-scissors power balance and multiplayer possibilities. It also showed, to a degree, that the Halo universe can expand beyond the confines of the FPS genre, even if its story is still cemented in the same...
