Couch Warriors / BAM Path To EVO

Another month of fiercely contested events saw the conclusion of the BAM Path To EVO Season 2. The last few points on the line in each of Street Fighter V, Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7 and Smash Ultimate then decided which players received sponsored travel to the season-ending Major, CouchWarriors Crossup! So who ultimately emerged on top to be crowned the season champion for their game across Australia & NZ?

Here’s your monthly breakdown of all the BPTE results and rankings for December. For more information about the upcoming Season 3 BPTE events, current standings and the points system itself, check out the Path to EVO website.

Overall Final Standings for BPTE Season 2

As the QLD Ranbat was the last ranking event of the BAM Path to EVO season, we were finally able to determine the Season 2 rankings for each game.

Final BPTE Standings for November

Congratulations to Ben “411|Ben Gold” Gold (Smash Ultimate), Tasman “DS|Waz” Stoker (MK11), Daniel “Kanga|Wowzer” Cossington (Tekken 7) and Reagan “S-NET|GhostChips” Kelly (SFV) for finishing first on points in their respective games!

CouchWarriors Crossup 2 Results – Season Champions

CWC 2019 Major Results

CouchWarriors Crossup 2 was the final Major of 2019, and featured points leaders from each BPTE game flying in to compete against the local field. While the location does naturally bias results towards the VIC scene, the top finishers in each game can still claim bragging rights as champions of BPTE Season 2! Congrats to Christian “ORDER|ROF” Dedalija, Waz (again!), Naveed “Kanga|Chand NY” Iqbal, and Joshua “Kanga|Ghost” Francis.

BAM Path to EVO will return for Season 3, culminating in a trip to BAM12 for points leaders where they can play for an EVO2020 sponsorship! As always, the complete points standings, event listings and tournament rules are available on the Path to EVO website.

Good luck to all our players getting ready for another tilt at the Path to EVO! See you in the new year.

For the fifth year running, The Game Awards has transpired to celebrate the year that was. And like years past, it was yet another forgettable show that seemingly felt worse than in years past. There were highs for sure, but they were brought crashing down by some painful lows. Though the question I ask myself every time The Game Awards happens is just who exactly is this show for? The Game Awards isn’t the sole awards ceremony for the video game industry, but it’s by far the biggest and most well known. It’s been described as “The Oscars of Gaming” by the New York Times, and it’s...

The Dark Alliance series holds a special place in people’s hearts as one of the best ways console fans of Dungeons & Dragons could experience the Baldur’s Gate and Forgotten Realms settings without playing the Baldur’s Gate PC RPGs. Nowadays, with those games on console and D&D more popular than ever, Dark Alliance is coming back in 2020 with a familiar setting, famous characters and an all-new name –  Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. Announced at The Game Awards, D&D: Dark Alliance is described by its developer, Tuque Games, as a spiritual successor to the Baldur&...

There’s always a major announcement or three at The Game Awards, but Microsoft may have upped the ante with a full-on system reveal. The console previously known as Project Scarlett is now officially called the Xbox System X, and we got a look at its unusual design. Microsoft is still touting this as the most powerful console they’ve ever built, and even gave a quick look at its controller. It looks similar enough to the Xbox One controller, but with the much-needed and welcomed addition of a Share button. No further details about the console were revealed, except that it’ll...
