Since its initial release in 2015, 2064: Read Only Memories has been one of the more popular attempts at creating a cyberpunk universe in the vein of Hideo Kojima’s Snatcher, and available on practically every platform you can think of. After years of ports and major updates, developer/publisher Midboss will be returning to the Read Only Memories universe with a sequel: Read Only Memories: Neurodiver, set to release in 2020.

The game sees you play as a telepath known as ES88 as you track down a rogue psychic known as the Golden Butterfly, who is wreaking havoc in the minds of the citizens of Neo-San Francisco. Your weapon to combat this menace is the Neurodiver, a device that allows you to dive into the minds of others. You’ll be tasked to going into the minds of others and unlocking information, hopefully not prying too deep, as it runs the risk of corrupting the memory of ES88’s targets. Much like its predecessor, Neurodiver will also be a point & click adventure game, and may even feature a few returning characters for fans of the first game.

The game is set to feature the same retro Japanese PC aesthetic that helped to defined its unique look, plus “retro-inspired” music from games music label Scarlett Moon. The game is set to initially release on PC/Mac, but would not be a surprise to us if it would make its way to consoles in the near future.

The fires of competition have burned more brightly than ever before across the CouchWarriors League, as we count down the days before the long-awaited BAM12 major. The month of May set a new all-time record for most ranking points on offer, impacting the race across all five CWL games. In the past, the league rankings have often been dominated by a handful of regional champions who can reliably scoop their local tournament every time – but 2021 is looking different. Not only have we seen a few instances of top players traveling interstate to play spoiler for one event, but almost every g...

Over the space of this year and the last, gaming has taken quite the zany trip to bizarro land. We’re still not out of the woods regarding COVID-induced delays, units of next gen consoles are currently outselling the games available on said platforms and to garnish, remasters of games thought to never see the light of day again are slated for release. Among them is a reworking of Square Enix’s cult classic from 2010: NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139. While the decision to re-release the original game makes logical sense due to NieR Automata‘s overwhelming critical and financ...

2020 was not a great year, but you’re probably well aware of that. It was a year that many of us struggled to get through, and saw the world adapting to a new normal in record breaking time. For us here at New Game Plus, we were unable to film out of our studio space at RMIT due to the pandemic. However, thanks to the ingenuity of our team, we were able to quickly and easily adapt the show to work recording from our homes. Up until we’d filmed our Game of the Year episode, we hadn’t filmed a television show in the same space together in over 9 months.  Even amongst the un...

The pivotal final month of Saturday online events for CouchWarriors League 2020 has delivered a barrage of top-flight competition, with three games having concluded their ranking seasons so far. The last two weekends were a study in contrasts; Smash Melee was reduced to a victory lap for an unstoppable champion, while Tekken 7’s overall season winner wasn’t decided until the very last blow! Smash Melee Saturday the 14th saw the final CouchWarriors League 2020 points awarded for Smash Melee. In the now well-trodden arena of The Australian Internet, the top class players of the nation would...
