Nintendo has made the best version of the Playstation Vita so far. Except this one has games to play. After the relative fail of the WiiU (which still sold more units that the last two Sega consoles), Nintendo has come out with a combined home console and portable device that nobody uses as a home console. Not that we care, because the Nintendo exclusives are enough to keep us happy. You could go through life playing only Nintendo games and be a very satisfied gamer.

With just a few days to go, Super Mario Odyssey is about to make waves across the gaming world providing what looks to be a stunning AAA title for the Nintendo Switch’s 2017 holiday season. We’ve seen plenty of advertising this time around, with events across cities including Mario having a Nintendo Switch booth set up outside the MCG for the AFL Grand Final week, and now the game’s soundtrack can be purchased on iTunes. By following this link, you can purchase the Super Mario Odyssey theme song “Jump Up, Super Star!” for $1.29USD from the iTunes store. The song w...

If you’ve ever had an even a passing interest in anime or manga, you’ve probably heard of One Piece before. With the twentieth anniversary of the manga passing this year, One Piece is one of the longest running and most enduring manga series in history. With that sort of monumental success, it makes sense that One Piece would also come to other mediums as well. The series has a long history in gaming, with every console generation receiving at least a couple of new One Piece games. The latest of these releases, One Piece Unlimited World Red – Deluxe Edition, is actually a port of a p...

When I was young, I was a massive fan of monsters, dinosaurs, and other cool-looking spiky creatures; basically, anything that looked tough and cool. Though my enthusiasm for wicked dragons and weird creatures has waned a bit over the years, I felt a resurgence of childhood glee when I discovered the premise of Monster Hunter Stories. Your personalised character is a fledgling Rider, hailing from a small village where monsters aren’t hunted but instead befriended, trained and used to defend in combat. It’s a significant departure from other Monster Hunter titles, although you’ll recognis...

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was previously reviewed by Joseph here , this review is for the recently released Nintendo Switch port. Slowly but surely, the Nintendo Switch is receiving more and more ports, as publishers have seen the sales and success of the console and have been quick to get some of their big franchises across. While most Dragon Ball fans are likely frothing at the mouth over the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ, Switch owners have been treated to a release of 2016’s Dragon Ball game, with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch. The time-travelling Action-RPG has...

Thanks to Nintendo Australia, I had the chance to play Super Mario Odyssey, the newest 3D Mario platformer and his first ‘solo’ outing onto the Switch, and I was pleasantly surprised with what I got my hands on. Odyssey definitely has its own style, but it still feels familiar to an experienced 3D Mario gamer. I quickly found myself long jumping and ground pounding easily on the Joy-Con. While I don’t actually own a Switch, Odyssey is really making me question how much I have in my wallet (plus with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 coming, I’m gonna have to buy one soon, aren’t I?). The demo...

It’s still hard to believe that only nine months ago we were shown Super Mario Odyssey for the first time and now there’s only a month to go until it’s in our hands. Following in the nearly forgotten footsteps of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, Odyssey promises to be a Mario game that we haven’t seen in two console generations. Sandbox worlds ready to explore, multiple objectives to complete, hidden secrets to discover and, of course, that trademark Mario charm to experience. I recently had the chance to go hands-on with three of the game’s Kingdoms and walked away believing...

With a Xenoblade game having released only 2 years ago and the ever present possibility of a delay, many people didn’t believe Nintendo when they announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 would release for the Nintendo Switch in 2017. The potential for delay only increased as we got to September without a release date being announced. Nintendo took the opportunity to not only showcase a smorgasbord of new gameplay footage during their latest Nintendo Direct, but also announce that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is definitely coming out this year, setting a release date of December 1st. The new...

The crowds were aplenty and the merchandise was flying out the door as WWE’s RAW roster filled the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia last night for WWE Live Australia 2017, and thanks to our friends at 2K Games we were right in the thick of it to see some of the biggest WWE superstars today. We were ushered to the WWE Lounge for some pre-show wining and dining and had the chance to meet Sasha Banks and Titus O’Neil. The WWE Lounge was busier than we expected, but it was fantastic to see some children get up and close with their idols. The show began with Olympic gold medallist and R...

Along with online multiplayer fixes, Salmon Run enemies and player glitches also get some attention in this Splatoon 2 update. There are also a bunch of minor changes to different weapons in the game to help balance gameplay. Rocket Chainsaw reviewed Splatoon 2 giving it 4 out of 5 stars and saying, “It doesn’t necessarily change much from its predecessor, but instead improves upon the single player experience while adding new weapons and gear, one new co-op mode and enhancing the overall...

The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses concerts have been playing world wide since January 2012. Originally conceived as a limited run to celebrate the Zelda franchise’s 25th anniversary, it has now lived to see the series run past the the 30-year mark and has been updated accordingly. Not only is Breath of the Wild featured in the concert, but footage from the re-releases on 3DS and Wii U is also used which helps bring the concert into the next generation. But you’re not there for the footage. While it certainly helps trigger memories of all those locations, characters and battles...
