Kiwi-Cast Gaming Live Stream | Rebuild Christchurch

11-12 April, 2015

Natural disasters can cause a stir of emotions, and when it happens overseas a lot of support is often given. In 2011, however, the same thing happened in our backyard–Christchurch was hit by an earthquake that severely damaged the city and killed 185 people. Four years on, the rebuild is still a struggle, with people without jobs and buildings still broken and dilapidated. We want to help out the communities in Christchurch on their journey to recovery.

To do that, Kiwi-Cast is holding a 30-hour charity gaming live stream for Rebuild Christchurch, a full-time volunteer organisation dedicated to helping the people of Christchurch affected by the disaster.

The stream is scheduled to go live on Saturday 11th April at 11am NZDT and will end 12th April at 5pm NZDT. Featuring some of New Zealand’s highest profile gamers and YouTubers, the schedule includes Dark Souls 2 (blindfolded!), Octodad, Cloudberry Kingdom, Minecraft, BloodBorne, a Fibbage Tournament, Slender challenges, Kingdom Hearts boss fights, and more.

The stream can be watched online via our website–http://www.kiwi-cast.co.nz–as an embedded YouTube live event.

You can donate to our cause (before, during and after the stream) here: http://kiwi-cast.co.nz/donate/

Two charity auctions are also running on Trade Me:

A cricket bat signed by The Blackcaps (New Zealand’s national team) — http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=867730054

A set of signed Red vs Blue DVDs and a poster — http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=867754001
