Australia confirmed for Titanfall servers

March 13, 2014

TwitterIn breaking news, Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment has took to Twitter to set the record straight; Australia will be getting local servers for Titanfall.

Beginning this Friday morning, EA, Microsoft and Respawn Entertainment are all working in tandem to make amends for the Australian Titanfall community by rolling out local servers and increasing capacity at a gradual pace.

Titanfall, an ambitious project by Respawn Entertainment features online-only multiplayer that heavily utilises cloud-based features powered by Windows Azure; Microsoft’s cloud platform and server infrastructure. Previously, there was no word on Australia reaping the benefits that Azure would provide given the geographical location from the rest of the world. With this newly surfaced information, Titanfall players in Australia can expect improved latency and a smoother gaming experience in the coming days.

Titanfall has released just today for the Xbox One and PC in Australia. The Xbox 360 release has been delayed until late-March 2014.
