Far Cry 4 Announced

May 16, 2014

FC4_KEYART_618x733World renowned publisher Ubisoft have taken to their official UbiBlog to announce Far Cry 4, the next instalment of their long-running series notorious for warfare in the wilderness. Set in the Himalayan-inspired region of Kyrat, players will be tasked with a savage fight for survival against a gun laundering, self-appointed opportunist leader and his weapon-toting followers.

Despite sharing a similar premise to 2012′s Far Cry 3, Executive Producer Dan Hay aims to keep fans of previous Far Cry titles comfortable while offering a completely different yet equally perilous setting. “Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” Dan said.

“Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”

Development will be carried out primarily by Ubisoft Montreal of Far Cry 3 fame in conjunction with Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.

Far Cry 4 is scheduled for release November 18 in the US, November 20 everywhere else and will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Ubisoft will also be showcasing more Far Cry 4 action next month at E3 2014.
