WC_2014_Logo2In front of a packed soccer stadium in Seoul South Korea and millions tuning in on Twitch, Azubu, YouTube and ESPN, Samsung White defeated Star Horn Royal Club 3-1 in the League of Legends World Championship Finals, earning themselves $1 million.

Samsun White’s support Mata took out the title of the tournament’s MVP, with a Kill/Death/Assist ratio of 18/27/253.

The Korean Samsung White blitzed though the playoffs, only dropping one game before facing off against the Chinese underdogs Star Horn in another Korea vs. China Worlds final, echoing 2013′s World Championships. Royal Club also finished runner up in last year’s Worlds.

The win confirms Korea’s title as the League Championship Region to beat. The strongest North American and European teams, Fnatic and Cloud9, fell short in the top 8.

Riot put on a show for the World Championship Finals, filling Sangam Stadium with over 40,000 League fans, fireworks and live performances from Imagine Dragons, who provided the theme song for this year’s World Championship.
