Ubisoft Delay Watch Dogs & The Crew Until 2014

October 16, 2013

With just over a month until the local releases of the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, Ubisoft have today confirmed its two new IP’s hitting next month, The Crew & Watch_Dogs, won’t be making their debuts this year. Both titles are now slated to be released sometime in 2014.

Speaking on the Ubisoft blog, members of the Watch_Dogs team reiterated that they weren’t one to compromise on quality, and instead of releasing the game in a state they deemed inappropriate, they’ve come to the realization that they needed more time to polish the game and fine tune it just that little bit more. Speaking on the delay of both games, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has said that “our long term goal is to win the next generation. The tough decisions we are taking today to fully realize the major potential of our new creations have an impact on our short-term performance. In a context of growing successes for mega-blockbusters, the additional time given to the development of our titles will allow them to fulfill their huge ambitions and thus offer players even more exceptional experiences.”

Watch_Dogs was later reconfirmed to be releasing in Q1 2014, with the Crew slated for after April 2014.
